It's very early to say, but I see the charts below as reason to hope that "Shelter in Place" is working.
Because testing is so rare and unsystematic, the new cases data are not very accurate. The deaths data are probably far more accurate, but the numbers are so small there's a lot of statistical uncertainty.
Medical experts say it should take two to three weeks from shelter-in-place to a peak in new cases, so the slowdown should increase over the next week or so.
