Endless Runaround at CCSF

This is a timeline of the process of ordering new equipment at City College San Francisco.

The logical conclusion is that there is no point even bothering. Wally is right.

2-4-16: Complete grant proposal and equipment list submitted to Perkins funding agency

3-4-16: ITS complains that our purchase of PC and Macs are not standard office versions and therefore we are not allowed to get them. Justification sent 3-7-16. This was supposedly resolved on 3-14-16.

6-7-16: Dept. chair announces that upgrades to hacking lab equipment approved by Perkins, money given to CCSF.

10-17-16: Dept. chair has lost the order; wants another copy

11-10-16: No progress ordering equipment, I request information from Dept. chair

11-15-16: Administrative assistant to Dept. chair says the purchase process will start the next day.

12-7-16: Spreadsheet passed on to someone in purchasing.

1-30-17: Order stopped because the bids from Feb. 2016 are no longer honored by vendors.

3-10-17: ITS blocks the purchase because we are asking for non-standard Macs.

4-5-17: Detailed justification sent to ITS.
