Microsoft Surface v. MacBook

My MacBook Air from 2012 has been crashing, making me think of getting a new laptop.

I looked through Microsoft and Apple's current offerings (as of 10-18-2015) and my conclusion was:

Apple offers more for your money if you want a traditional laptop.

For me, getting a MacBook Pro would make more sense than moving to the Microsoft Surface line. I think it's very exciting to Windows users to finally have products as nice as MacBooks available to them--it shows Microsoft finally providing a good user experience to their customers, something Apple users have long been accustomed to.

Microsoft's Surface line is only worth getting if you value using your laptop as a tablet, or using Windows.

Note: the Surface 3 tablet looks like a real bargain if you want something better than an iPad but less than a real laptop.
