Re: Cancelled Cybersecurity Classes

Dear Trustee Davila, Chancellor Martin, Vice-Chancellor Ly, Vice-Chancellor Cooper-Wilkins, Dean Yee, and Department Chair Taha:

I am a student taking classes to earn a certificate or degree in cybersecurity at CCSF, but my progress has been impeded because essential classes have been cancelled and instructors laid off. Here are the classes I was unable to take this semester:

CNIT 123: Ethical Hacking and Network Defense
...

In addition, these classes were only available to me because the instructors chose to take students beyond the enrollment cap, working unpaid in an unsustainable, exploitative manner:

CNIT 121: Computer Forensics
...

If the cybersecurity classes are not restored, CCSF will lose its NSA accreditation as an Academic Center of Excellence, lowering the value of its degrees and certificates.

Please restore the classes and staffing of CCSF's cybersecurity program before more students go unserved, and more faculty are lost.

Sincerely,

...
