Hacking into Wireless Networks

There are many ways to secure a Wi-Fi network, including MAC address filtering, WEP, and WPA encryption. And all these measures are dependent on the security of the administrative password on the router. After a brief explanation of these security measures and their limitations, students will perform hands-on lab exercises hacking into supposedly "secure" WEP and WPA-protected networks.

Using USB Flash Drives as Hacking Tools

U3 flash drives can hold programs in addition to data, providing a great convenience to the user. But they can be modified to create extremely dangerous hacking tools. Simply plugging a modified U3 drive into a Windows computer can be enough to give an attacker copies of the files on that machine, password hashes, and an opportunity to install keyloggers and other malware. After a brief explanation of the attacks, students will perform hands-on labs creating and using the "USB PocketKnife" hacking tool. U3 drives will be provided to the students.
