Subject: National Science Foundation-STEM Scholarships Available

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that CCSF was awarded a $600,000grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). The purpose of this scholarship program is to support students who are academically talented and are financially needy. The program will include financial and academic support as well as counseling. Please encourage your students to apply. Below is the basic information regarding the scholarship program.

National Science Foundation-STEM Scholarship: CCSF will award scholarships to full-time students interested in Science, Technology,Engineering, or Math (STEM) for 2012-2013 Academic Year

Application Deadline: May 18, 2012

Eligibility Criteria

• All students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
• Completed at least 9 units at CCSF
• Completed at least one class from a Science or Technology department
• Cumulative GPA of 2.50
• GPA of 2.7 or better in all completed Science and Technology Courses
• Citizen or national of the United States, or alien lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence
• Have filed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
